The devil is in the detail as they say, and that is certainly true when it comes to styling and accessorising interiors. Styling is my absolute favourite part of designing a space. It's what brings everything together, and makes it feel finished and homely. It's also how you add that touch of luxury to your space. I have put together for you 10 of the best styling accessories that you can use to bring that touch of luxury in to your own home. With a neutral colour palette, most of these accessories will blend seamlessly into any home and any style.
I have included lots of my personal favourites in this edit, many of which you will find around my own home. A particular favourite is the faux eucalyptus from Ikea. At only £2.50 a stem, it is one of the cheaper options out there and also one of the least artificial looking. I tend to pick up a couple more each time I'm in Ikea. Bunch them together to create a really full display, or use just one stem for a minimal look.
Coffee table books are a great way of styling a coffee table or side table. My advice for when you are choosing coffee table books would be to stay true to what you're interested in. I am often tempted by the beautiful and ever popular Tom Ford and Dior books you see adorning many coffee tables, but the truth is fashion doesn't interest me and my passion lies in interiors. Therefore, all of my coffee table books are focussed on interior design (apart from the few stray Lego books and gardening books... I suppose it is his home too). Your styling should be a reflection of you as well as being useful and not just for display, so keep it personal and true to your likes.
My final tip for styling and accessorising your home is, do not forget about scent! A beautiful smelling home is just as important as a beautiful looking home! I have to confess that recently I have been converted by the quality of the more expensive candles and diffusers out there. Don't get me wrong, you will find many, many Aldi No.1 2 and 3 candles and diffusers around my home. However, none of my cheaper candles ever fill the house with scent in the same way as my The White Company Seychelles candle does, nor do they burn as well or last as long. Similarly, no other diffuser gives off as much scent and evaporates as slowly as my Culti diffusers (thankfully purchased from Homesense because they are SPENNY at full price). If you can justify it, it's worth treating yourself to some of the more high end candles and diffusers that are on the market, but as I say, the Aldi ones also make great accessories.
So there you have it, my 10 of the Best Styling Accessories for around the home. Let me know in the comments below if you try any of my styling tips!
